A pedestrian was killed early Sunday in a hit-and-run crash in Conyers, authorities said.

Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Tracey Watson said in an email that the suspect vehicle was traveling east on Iris Drive, not far from I-20, when it struck a pedestrian just before 6 a.m. The pedestrian was killed and the vehicle fled.

“A second vehicle struck the deceased pedestrian and immediately notified 911,” Watson said. “There were no witnesses to the hit and run.”

As of Sunday afternoon, the victim’s family had not been notified. An identity was not released.
