A second person has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Gwinnett County, police said.
Investigators last week received information that an additional vehicle was involved in the Aug. 7 incident on South Norcross Tucker Road, Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said Wednesday.
After the first car struck Floridalma Godinez-Chavez, Richard Grant ran over her in a GMC truck he was test-driving, Pihera said. Godinez-Chavez, 47, of Norcross, died at the scene.
The GMC truck was recovered from the owner, and evidence was found under the vehicle that confirmed the events, Pihera said.
Grant is in the Gwinnett County jail on charges of first degree vehicular homicide, hit-and-run, driving with a suspended license, and failure to pay child support, records show.
Police previously arrested the driver of the first car and charged him with felony vehicular homicide, felony hit-and-run and driving without a license.
Carlos Hernandez-Tecata, 44, of Lilburn, drove away after hitting Godinez-Chavez as she tried to walk across South Norcross Tucker Road about 9:30 p.m., police said.
He is in the county jail without bond.
