A North Georgia inmate faces additional felony charges after she resisted jail officers Sunday evening, leaving one with a broken leg, authorities said.

Michelle Cutright-Cox, 23, of Taylorsville, is accused of breaking the officer’s left leg shortly before 8 p.m. at the Floyd County Jail, deputies said. The incident led to an additional charge of felony aggravated battery on a police officer and counts of felony obstruction and misdemeanor simple battery, according to an incident report obtained by AJC.com.

Cutright-Cox was in jail after being arrested in October on felony shoplifting charges, according to jail records. She was also charged with battery and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution on the same day, warrants show.

She had been denied bond on the initial three charges and remained in jail Friday for her 177th day in custody.
