It’s a stately, nearly 7,000-square-foot home in Sandy Springs worth nearly $1 million. But for the second time in recent months, it’s those renting the home that have gotten the most attention.
This week, the Strauss Lane home was the scene of a human trafficking investigation, according to police. The former renter — who is not affiliated with the trafficking case — was former "Cosby" kid Keshia Knight Pulliam, the homeowners association president said.
“It’s a beautiful home in a wonderful neighborhood, and it’s unfortunate that they’ve had two incidents at this home in the last few months,” former neighbor Mark Feinberg said.
Knight Pulliam, best known for her role as Rudy on “The Cosby Show,” was previously married to Ed Hartwell, a former NFL player.
“She was very friendly,” Feinberg said of the 37-year-old Knight Pulliam.
After being married for a few months, Knight Pulliam announced in July she was pregnant. Hartwell then filed for divorce, sparking a publicized feud between the two.
In recent months, Kenndric Traman Roberts rented the five-bedroom home. On Tuesday, a 20-year-old woman called 911 to report Roberts had threatened her with violence if she left, according to Sandy Springs police. The woman was one of eight living in the home.
Roberts allegedly forced women in his home to have plastic surgery, etch matching tattoos on their wrists and dance at strip clubs. Then, he took the money the women earned and, in exchange, offered them drugs and sex, according to police.
Roberts, 33, was arrested and charged with trafficking a person for labor and false imprisonment. He was being held without bond Thursday night at the Fulton County jail.
