Murder suspect rammed into deputy’s car with U-Haul truck, officials say

A man accused of shooting a woman in the face and leaving her for dead was arrested after Clayton County officials found him behind a restaurant.

Victor Demetrius Baymon was arrested late Wednesday after officials say he rammed his U-Haul truck into a deputy’s car in an attemped to evade arrest, Clayton County sheriff’s officials said.

Baymon was wanted in the April 10 shooting death of Priscilla Colbert. Police found Colbert, 27, dead, face-down from at least one gunshot wound in a home on the 100 block of Black Forest Trail in Stockbridge.

Baymon and Colbert’s relationship is not known.

Clayton County sheriff’s deputies spotted Baymon driving the truck behind a Golden Corral on Ga. 138. In Stockbridge.

When they attempted to pull him over, he rammed into one of the patrol cars, officials said.

Other deputies were able to prevent Baymon from leaving the scene.

In addition to murder, Baymon faces aggravated assault, obstruction, kidnapping and weapons charges, according to jail records.

He remains in the Clayton County jail without bond.
