The driver of a pickup truck did not stop after hitting and killing a motorcyclist on a busy DeKalb County road Sunday night, police said.

The motorcyclist, 29-year-old Alvin Robinson, was headed north on Bouldercrest Road toward I-285 when he was hit shortly before 6 p.m., according to DeKalb County police spokeswoman Michaela Vincent.

Investigators believe a red Ford F-150 pulled out of a private road near the entrance to the Sugar Creek Golf Club and turned left into the motorcycle’s path. Robinson hit the truck on the driver’s side and was ejected from his bike.

He later died at a local hospital.

“The driver of the truck did not stop and investigators are searching for the driver,” Vincent said.

An investigation is ongoing.
