A 23-year-old man was in critical condition after he was shot six times Tuesday night in southeast Atlanta, police said.
Officers responded to a person shot call just after 11:25 p.m. and found Persian “FAT P” Lee on the sidewalk in front of a Browns Mill Road townhome community, Atlanta police Officer Kim Jones said.
“Seven rifle casings and one handgun casing were recovered from the roadway,” Jones said.
According to police, the shooting started after an older model white Pontiac pulled up to the townhomes.
Lee, who returned fire, was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center before he could make a statement. However, police believe he was the intended target.
An attendant at a nearby gas station told police that Lee had been at the station earlier in the night.
“He said the victim had an eye injury,” Jones said. “The victim told him he was robbed.”
The attendant told police Lee and “numerous other young men frequently hang out at one of the townhomes where the shooting happened,” Jones said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police.
