Police say a man who was shot in the back Wednesday was alert, conscious and breathing on the way to the hospital.
The man’s name was not released, but he was in his 30s, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Lukasz Sajdak said.
His condition was not known after he left the area of Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard and Parsons Street in Atlanta.
"Through speaking with witnesses officers believed the incident location to be 897 Parsons, which was reported to barricaded a student housing unit," Sajdak said.
