A man found guilty of robbing three people at gunpoint, including a former high school classmate, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, the Henry County District Attorney’s Office said.

Malachi Frazier, 20, of McDonough, was convicted June 13 of armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

On Jan. 13, 2017, prosecutors said Frazier approached three young men who were walking in a wood line between two apartment complexes on Willow Lane and pointed a gun at them, Henry district attorney spokeswoman Cheveda McCamy said in a news release. Frazier then ordered the trio to the ground, demanded they empty their pockets and left with their wallets and cellphones.

Authorities arrested Frazier when he was identified from a lineup by one of the victims, an ex-classmate at Eagle’s Landing High School.

“This is a violent man who terrorized these men as they were walking in our community,” District Attorney Darius Pattillo said in a statement. “Under the sentence, the armed robbery conviction requires him to serve every day of the 20 years in prison without early release.”

Frazier will be placed on probation for five years following his prison stint, officials said.
