A South Georgia man was convicted Thursday of shooting five friends inside a Colquitt County home and then setting fire to the house in an attempt to cover his tracks.

Jeffrey Alan Peacock was sentenced to five consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole for the May 2016 murders, WALB-TV reported.

Investigators arrested Peacock after Jonathon Edwards, Jones Pidcock, Reid Williams, Alicia Norman and Jordan Croft, were discovered dead inside the burned home. All five victims, who were in their early 20s, suffered gunshot wounds, the GBI said.
