LaGrange rehab center employee arrested, accused of sexually assaulting patient

A LaGrange rehab center employee was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he was accused of sexually assaulting a patient.

Clifton Heflin, who works at LaGrange Nursing and Rehab, was charged with aggravated sodomy, sexual assault and reckless conduct, LaGrange police said in a news release.

About 5 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the rehab center off West Point Road, and a 59-year-old patient said Heflin sexually assaulted him Monday evening, the release said. Heflin was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday after an interview with detectives.

He was booked into the Troup County Jail without bond.
