Gwinnett police on Wednesday continued to investigate a shooting that left two men in critical condition.

Police were called to the scene of the double shooting at Pendleton Place in unincorporated Suwanee shortly before 2 p.m. Monday. Officers saw broken glass and shell casings in the roadway when they arrived, police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said.

A woman told officers a black car and a silver car were parked side by side when she heard several bangs and saw the black car speed away.

The two unidentified men were shot during the exchange of gunfire, Pihera said. Both were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center and arrived within minutes of one another, she said.

After dropping off one of the injured men, the driver of the black car returned to Pendleton Place and was questioned by police. The driver said he wasn’t involved in the shooting and only took the man to the hospital, Pihera said.

After the second man’s arrival at the hospital, officers found the silver car abandoned in the parking lot.

Both vehicles were impounded to police headquarters.

The injured men were still in the hospital Wednesday in critical condition, Pihera said.

Police have not released a possible motive, but they are pursuing tips as they come, she said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Gwinnett police at 770-513-5300. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477 or visiting crimestoppersatlanta.org.
