A man arrested on an outstanding warrant may be involved in a weekend shooting that critically injured a 16-year-old girl, Henry County police said Monday.
Kordion Cousins, 19, was arrested the night of the shooting, which occurred about 11 p.m. Saturday along North Henry Boulevard, police Sgt. Danny Gibbs said. Details about the outstanding warrant were not released.
“At this time,” Gibbs said, “he remains a suspect in this case and has not been ruled out.”
Police did not give any updates on the condition of the girl, who was shot in the back after a fight broke out at a pool party attended by more than 200 teenagers. The girl's name has not been released.
More than 70 shell casingswere found at the scene, police told Channel 2 Action News. One car had five bullet holes.
Gibbs said police are continuing to interview witnesses.
