A Hall County mother was arrested after her 16-month-old was found in her car’s backseat bound with cellophane and packing tape, the sheriff’s office said Thursday.
Grace Love An, 18, called a locksmith Wednesday night to unlock her car on Ahaluna Drive, near Gainesville. The locksmith called police after seeing the child, who was lying in the backseat with cellophane and packing tape wrapped around the child’s mouth, hands and feet, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies rescued the child, who was taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment. The child, whose age and gender were not released, was later placed in the custody of the Division of Family and Children’s Services, investigators said.
An was charged with first-degree cruelty to children, false imprisonment and reckless conduct, the sheriff’s office said. She was booked into the Hall County jail, where she was being held Thursday afternoon on $11,600 bond, booking records showed.
