A shooting that left two people with life-threatening injuries in Gwinnett County began when a man tried to sell shoes to someone he thought was an interested buyer, a woman told Channel 2 Action News.

Mandy Brock said her boyfriend’s younger brother was shot twice, once below the collar bone and once underneath the ribs.

Another person was shot in the incident, which occurred shortly before 2 p.m. on Pendleton Place in Suwanee. Investigators are still trying to figure out what led to the violence, who the shooter is and who the victim is.

Brock said she was in a room with her boyfriend when her boyfriend’s younger brother called.

“He was like, ‘I got shot. Help me,’” Brock told the television station.

She said the wounded brother pulled up in a car. She and her boyfriend moved him to the passenger’s seat and they took off for a local hospital.

“When we got in the car, we were like, ‘What happened?’” Brock said “He’s like, ‘Tried to sell some shoes, and they robbed me, and they shot [me].”

She said she applied pressure to the man’s wounds and told him he would be alright.

Police went to Pendleton Place after a 911 caller heard gunshots outside a home in the area, Gwinnett officials said.

Officers discovered broken glass from a car window in the road, but nothing else.

Police later learned two people with life-threatening injuries came in separately to Gwinnett Medical Center.
