A lockdown has been lifted at a Gwinnett County elementary school after police suspended a search for people in connection with a burglary in the area, authorities said.

Police were searching in the area of Minor Elementary School in Lilburn, police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said. A helicopter, police dog and patrol officers were involved. The search was in the area near Shady Drive and Beaver Lane, police said.

A resident was inside their home on Minor Creek Way when two people tried to break in, Pihera said. Police were seeking two men, one who was wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans, and another who was wearing all black, Pihera said.

All students and teachers were safe within the school during the lockdown, Gwinnett County Schools said in a statement.
