In the second verdict of the day, a jury found three people guilty of malice murder, felony murder and other charges in connection with a 2016 shooting, the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reported.

Earlier, the judge set aside guilty verdicts against the defendants after a juror said her votes against two defendants were not free or voluntary, the newspaper reported. Also, the former foreperson was replaced last week with an alternate after other jurors said she would not deliberate.

Xzavaien Trevon Jones, 19, was found guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, gang violence and using a firearm to commit a crime, the newspaper reported.

His sister, Tekoa Chantrell Young, 24, was found guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and gang violence.

And Terell Raquez McFarland, 26, was found guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and gang violence.

Authorities said the defendants are associated with the Crips street gang.

Prosecutors said Jones shot Anthony Meredith, 24, 10 times to avenge the 2015 death of Young’s boyfriend, Christopher Twitty, who was thought to be a Crip. The other co-defendants allegedly looked on during the shooting at Peachtree Mall in Columbus.

Witnesses testified that Young, McFarland, Meredith and Twitty knew each other from Hardaway High School, the newspaper reported.
