Shortly after the city suffered a high-profile slaying, Savannah said it will be getting help from the Georgia State Patrol, according to a media report.
Police Chief Joseph Lumpkin said Friday that the GSP “has agreed to assign resources to help us combat these violent offenders,” the Savannah Morning News reported.
The plea for help comes after downtown business owner Kevin Reid was shot and killed during an armed robbery Wednesday. He was the city's 42nd homicide of 2016.
