Sandy Springs police are looking for a woman suspected in the overdose death of her 9-month-old grandson.

Tonya Danyial Monroe, 45, is wanted on charges of murder, possession of methamphetamine and first degree cruelty to children, according to a Sandy Springs Police Department release.

Police got a call March 11 about an unresponsive baby at the Legends at Dunwoody Apartments off Colquitt Road, according to the release. The baby was dead when they arrived.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the baby died of a methamphetamine overdose, leading detectives to start a murder investigation, according the release.

During that investigation, Sandy Springs detectives identified Monroe as the suspect, police said.

Warrants were obtained for Monroe’s arrest June 14, but police don’t know of her whereabouts.

Monroe was last seen driving a silver 2004 Toyota 4-Runner with Georgia license number RAL9819, according to the release.
