A Good Samaritan was shot three times Thursday in Gwinnett County after he stopped to help two women he thought were in distress, police said.

Between noon and 1 p.m., the man, who is 41 years old, stopped in the area of Lawrenceville Highway and Davis Mill Court when the women flagged him down, spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said.

The man was lured behind a townhome on Davis Mill Court and confronted by at least three men in their teens, one of whom was armed, Washington said. The armed teen demanded that the victim empty his pockets, and immediately following, shot the victim and ran from the scene, Washington said.

The victim is in stable condition at Gwinnett Medical Center.

Police are asking the public’s help in identifying the women and the teens involved, Washington said. Anyone with information can call 770-513-5300.
