A Hall County man arrived at a shopping center Wednesday morning to allegedly meet a child for sex, but he was met by deputies instead.

Investigators arrested Adam Lee Epps, 32, of Gainesville, once he pulled his pickup truck into a parking lot at the corner of Spout Springs Road and Friendship Road.

“Epps had been in contact with a person he knew to be a child using a mobile app,” a Hall County sheriff’s spokesman said in a news release. “He held sexually explicit conversations with the individual up until Wednesday’s meeting.”

No child was ever in danger over the two weeks investigators were monitoring Epps’ communications, the release said.

Epps faces charges of criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation and electronic enticement of a child, according to authorities.
