A carjacking sting operation based in south Fulton County led police Friday on a chase through three counties. The pursuit ended with some suspects being apprehended at a private residence.

Four suspects, all juveniles, took the carjacking bait Friday and led police through Fulton, Douglas and Cobb counties, Fulton police Lt. Scott McBride said in an email to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Fulton police used helicopters in their pursuit, and Cobb County officers eventually took the suspects into custody.

The suspects were caught when they cut through a road and ended up at a dead end, wsbtv.com reported. Three suspects were found hiding in a covered, undriveable car in a private driveway. The fourth suspect was arrested nearby.

“I think I’m in a state of shock,” Cobb County resident Carol Ammons told Channel 2 Action News. “The police were on my back deck.”

Fulton police say the suspects could be part of a group pulling off carjackings and break-ins near Fulton Industrial Boulevard.
