Firefighters called to a house fire late Tuesday morning said the woman living there may have ignited the blaze.
“The lady is admitting that she started the fire,” Atlanta Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Glen Riley said. “Family is saying they had some issues taking her to the hospital prior to this.”
The fire, in the 1500 block of Jonesboro Road in southeast Atlanta, was reported around 11:40 a.m., Riley said.
Around noon, the fire was extinguished, he said.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was taken into police custody Tuesday afternoon.
It is unclear whether she will be charged in connection with the fire.
