A DeKalb County jail services worker is accused of working with an inmate to give drugs to other prisoners, officials said.
Corderious Farley, 19, of Decatur, was fired from his food service vendor job when jail officials found out he was giving the drugs to inmates, DeKalb sheriff’s spokeswoman Cynthia Williams said.
Officials arrested Farley inside the jail.
They said his job allowed him access to the inmates who prepare meals for fellow prisoners.
The inmate being investigated was awaiting trial for a probation violation. He could face additional charges pending the outcome of the investigation. The inmate’s name was not released.
Farley was charged with criminal attempt to cross a guard line with intent to deliver contraband. He is being interviewed by the DeKalb Sheriff’s Office of Professional Standards.
