A man was critically injured in a shooting Thursday night at a DeKalb County apartment complex, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Just before 11 p.m., the man was shot several times in the chest in the parking lot of the Creekside Forest apartments on Ember Drive.

Police believe the injured man tried to run for help and collapsed before being rushed to a local hospital. His name has not been released, but police said he is 20 years old.

Officers were searching for the shooter early Friday, DeKalb police Lt. Mark Lavigne told Channel 2.

“We’re still talking to witnesses trying to figure out what happened,” he said.
