A man who brought a woman to a Lithia Springs home to retrieve her belongings and her children is accused of killing another man at the home, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.

Shawn Anthony Clark, 29, had brought the unidentified woman to a home on Winding Creek Drive around 2:20 p.m. Saturday, Lt. Glenn Daniel said. While Clark was still in the car, he exchanged words with another man, identified as 27-year-old Antonio Ellison, Daniel said in an emailed statement.

The verbal altercation between the two men turned physical, witnesses told investigators.

“During the physical altercation, subject Clark produced a handgun and fatally shot the male victim Ellison and left the scene of the incident,” Daniel said.

Clark was arrested about eight hours later in Union City and charged with murder. He was booked into the Douglas County jail, where he was being held late Sunday without bond.
