Cops: Fulton County mother shot in neck by 13-year-old son
Fulton County police believe a 13-year-old boy accidentally shot his mother in the neck Saturday night inside their home near College Park.
Channel 2 Action News reported that authorities responded to the home inside the Amhurst subdivision around 8 p.m. Saturday, finding the woman wounded. She was rushed to the hospital but was expected to recover.
Police told Channel 2 that her son was handling the gun — which did not belong to the family and was reportedly found nearby — when it accidentally went off.
As of Sunday morning, no charges had been filed.
The home on Hilltop Way — not far from Cascade Palmetto Highway — is the same one where local business owner Hardy Touray was shot and killed during a Sept. 2014 robbery. Channel 2 reported that the woman shot Saturday was Touray's sister.
