One of the twin sisters wanted in connection with a violent frying pan attack in Clayton County has been arrested, authorities said Tuesday.

Tyra Faison, 19, is being held on charges of burglary, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, robbery and criminal trespass. Sheriff Victor Hill asked for the public’s help to locate Faison and her identical twin sister, Kyra Faison, following the Dec. 10 incident at the home of Kyra’s ex-boyfriend.

According to a police report obtained by AJC.com, the victim and Faison’s ex-boyfriend were inside an apartment in the Hampton Downs complex off Mt. Zion Boulevard when the door was kicked in. The victim, a 20-year-old woman, told police the sisters “jumped” her.

She was punched in the face before one of the girls grabbed a frying pan and beat her with it, according to the report. The woman said she was then dragged outside, where the sisters allegedly continued punching her.

On her way out of the door, the victim told police her car keys and cellphone fell out of her pocket. The sisters grabbed her keys and phone before they drove away, she said.

During the alleged attack, Kyra Faison’s ex-boyfriend walked out of the apartment. The victim, who said she knew the Faison twins, had only been dating the man about two weeks, according to the report.

Officers responding to the apartment early that morning found the woman bloodied, bruised and covered in dirt. They also found damage to the front door and a frying pan with a broken handle on the floor of the dining room.

One of the investigators “tried to speak with the witness, but he did not want to state what happened,” the officer said in the report.

No details about Tyra Faison’s arrest have been released. She was booked into the Clayton County Jail on Monday afternoon and was scheduled for a first appearance hearing Tuesday.

Kyra Faison is still at large, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

She is facing the same charges as her sister and is also charged in a pending misdemeanor case in Clayton County, records show.

Kyra Faison did not appear in court for a scheduled hearing Dec. 11, one day after the frying pan attack. She has pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless conduct, theft by receiving stolen property and firing a weapon.

She is described by authorities as 5 foot, 2 inches tall and about 117 pounds and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who spots Kyra Faison should call 911 immediately. Those with information about her whereabouts are asked to call the sheriff's office at 770-477-4479 or submit tips anonymously online.
