Three Bentleys stolen from an Alpharetta car dealership last week were found Saturday in a parking lot at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Several of the high-end cars — which run from around $200,000 to more than $300,000 apiece — were stolen from Bentley Atlanta on Westside Parkway between Dec. 19 and 21, Alpharetta police said. Atlanta police told Channel 2 on Saturday that security at Hartsfield-Jackson had noticed one Bentley parked at the airport’s Lot C for about three days before calling investigators.
“Police came and did an individual inspection of the vehicle. The officer ran the tag on the vehicle and the tag came back stolen,” Atlanta police Sgt. Warren Pickard told Channel 2.
Investigators then found two more Bentleys in the same parking lot.
Police worked with both state and federal investigators and notified shipping ports, Channel 2 reported. Alpharetta police spokesman George Gordon previously said stolen suxury cars are usually disassembled, traded or moved to other countries through the ports.
Atlanta police will process the recovered vehicles for evidence, Channel 2 reported.
