A man who was naked and disoriented outside a Lithia Springs apartment complex remains in the hospital Monday after being shot by an officer and tasered by a deputy.

Douglasville police took out a warrant for felony obstruction against 24-year-old Kwame Okyere Yeboah Jr., GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles said.

The GBI is investigating the Nov. 23 incident in which Yeboah allegedly lunged at an officer on a suspicious person call along the 1100 block of Preston Landing Circle. According to officials, Yeboah and the responding officer got into a struggle, which led to the cop pulling his gun and firing a shot into Yeboah’s arm.

A deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene and gave Yeboah verbal commands, Miles said. When he didn’t listen, the deputy tasered him.

Yeboah was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, but his condition was not released. He was last reported in stable condition.

The GBI continues to investigate.
