Two men were arrested after robbing a Villa Rica sports store and leading police on a chase that ended with a crash on I-20 in Douglasville, police said Friday.

Quavion Armour, 17, and Keymon Deshun Jackson, 23, both of Atlanta, were arrested on robbery and giving false name charges, Villa Rica police Capt. Keith Shaddix said in a statement. They are being held in the Carroll County Jail.

Armour and Jackson, along with five other men, are accused of robbing Hibbett’s Sports in Villa Rica about 5:45 p.m. Thursday.

Witnesses told police seven men stopped in the fire lane in front of the store, walked in the store, grabbed clothes and shoes and knocked down several racks in the process.

The men sped away in a silver Toyota Camry and a white Nissan Murano with temporary tags, Shaddix said.

After a lookout was given to nearby agencies, Douglasville police spotted the cars on I-20. The drivers refused to stop and Douglasville police chased them to an area near Thornton Road, Shaddix said.

The Toyota Camry was stopped using a PIT maneuver, a tactic that essentially involves bumping a vehicle in an attempt to immobilize it. Four of the men got out the car and ran, Shaddix said. The Nissan Murano and the people inside the vehicle have not been found.

Villa Rica police are investigating.

Shaddix asked anyone with information to contact Det. Eddie Thompson at 678-840-1317 or Crime Stoppers at 770-838-7867.
