Gwinnett County Police are looking for a man who robbed a Walmart at knife-point Thursday.

Around 11:40 p.m., at the Walmart located on 4975 Jimmy Carter Boulevard near Norcross, police said a man walked up to the cash register to purchase a pellet gun.

When the cashier opened the register, police said the man brandished a knife and lunged toward the cash drawer.

The cashier fled unharmed, and the bandit took a handful of cash before running from the store, police said.

An unknown amount of cash was taken, authorities said.

Police described the thief as a black man age 30 to 40 weighing between 180 and 220 pounds, standing between 6 feet and 6-foot-4-inches tall, who was wearing a brown jacket with a fur hood, a blue “beanie” hat, blue jeans, tan boots and possibly a beard.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Gwinnett County Police at 770-513-5355.
