Two men were arrested after they were pulled over for driving a stolen vehicle in Sandy Springs on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

Sandy Springs police located the stolen 2007 BMW convertible out of Illinois in the area of Hammond Drive and Roswell Road around 1:30 p.m., according to the agency’s Facebook post. Once the driver and two passengers got out, officers discovered three loaded firearms inside the vehicle, police said. One of the guns had a loaded magazine with 50 rounds.

The driver, 29-year-old Freddie Tilmon of Illinois, initially gave police a fake name, but officers were able to find out his actual identity after checking his fingerprints, according to the post.

Tilmon had three warrants out of Illinois for burglary, larceny and weapons offenses, police spokesman Sgt. Salvador Ortega said.

Sandy Springs police charged Tilmon with theft by receiving a stolen automobile, driving while unlicensed, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana and obstruction, police said.

According to the post, out-of-state agencies have also placed holds on Tilmon, and he is expected to be extradited to Illinois.

The front-seat passenger, 27-year-old Jabriel Clemons of Indiana, was charged with obstruction, while the third passenger was released without charges, police said.

According to Ortega, Tilmon and Clemons have been booked into Fulton County jail.
