Cobb County officials are requesting help in their search for a suspected arsonist who may have intentionally set 10 fires in an area surrounding a single apartment building near Vinings.

Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect, or multiple suspects, who set the fires. All 10 were in an area near the WestHaven at Vinings apartment complex in the 5000 block of Suffex Green Lane NW.

According to the agency’s announcement, three separate fires were set in the area within a 12-hour period on Jan. 10-11. Cobb officials suspect the same arsonist has been setting fires since September.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call the Cobb County fire investigations unit at 770-499-3869 or the hotline number for the HEAT program sponsored by Georgia Arson Control at 1-800-282-5804.
