A convenience store manager was shot multiple times in the legs Monday afternoon during a robbery in his gas station parking lot, Cobb County police said.

The incident happened at the Citgo at 3930 George Busbee Parkway around 1:38 p.m., Sgt. Dana Pierce with Cobb police said. The gas station is near the intersection with Frey Road.

The manager was leaving the store with a bank deposit bag when he was confronted by an armed man who tried to take the bag, Pierce said. During an altercation, the suspect fired at the manager several times, hitting him the legs. The wounds are not life-threatening, Pierce said.

The suspect fled the scene.

A police K-9 unit was dispatched to the scene to assist with the investigation, but the suspect has not been found, Pierce said.
