Clayton County police are trying to figure out what led to a wreck involving more than 50 cars on I-75 Sunday.

All northbound lanes of the interstate were closed for hours from Jonesboro Road to Old Dixie Highway, a police spokeswoman said.

The accident happened just before 7 p.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. Police said no one was seriously injured.

Authorities originally reported that at least 30 cars were involved.

Clayton County police were not able to say if Sunday’s rainy weather contributed to the crash.

Lanes were reopened and traffic started flowing again around 11 p.m., according to GDOT.
