Firefighters had just extinguished a mobile home fire when they found the body of a man in his mid-20s, officials said.

A bus driver reported seeing smoke and flames about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Warm Springs mobile home, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner spokesman Glenn Allen said.

“When firefighters arrived, they found a large part of the mobile home engulfed in flames,” he said.

After putting out the fire, crews found the man’s body inside the home. His identity has not been released.

Fire investigators and the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office are investigating. It is not known what caused the fire.

Allen said the fire caused about $25,000 in damages.
