A felon is back in custody after he walked away from a transitional facility last week, officials said.

Micheal Lamar Dais, 41, was “recaptured without incident” in Atlanta about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Georgia Department of Corrections said in a tweet.

Authorities had been looking for Dais since he left the Atlanta Transitional Center on June 22. Records show he is serving a 12-year sentence for robbery out of Chatham County. He was not scheduled to be released until October 2022.
