Brush fires closed Highway 166 in southwest Atlanta from Sylvan Road to Interstate 285 on Monday afternoon.

At one point, there were as many as five fires, according to Atlanta Fire department spokeswoman Janet Ward. By 3 p.m., most of the fires were pretty much under control except for hot spots, Ward told Channel 2 Action News.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fires, Ward said.
