Authorities are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a car in the parking lot of a Cobb County apartment complex.

The body was discovered about 7 a.m. Tuesday at the Caswyck Trail Apartment Homes, which is in the 2600 block of Favor Road near Marietta. The woman’s body was in a maroon Nissan Altima parked outside the 2E building, according to Cobb County police.

She was identified Wednesday as 36-year-old Ericka Stewart of Marietta. An autopsy was expected to be performed by the Cobb County Medical Examiner.

Police confirmed they are investigating her death as a homicide but did not release any suspect information.

Officers were also working a second scene Tuesday believed to be related to the incident, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Cobb police at 770-499-3945.
