The full afternoon of musical tributes, poems and addresses from friends and mentees of Congressman John Lewis was characterized by several memorable moments. A song that capped off the memorial service for Lewis has been heralded by social media as the “song of the summer.”

Shortly after former President Barack Obama shared his sentiments about his friend, BeBe and Marvin Winans, who were also longtime confidantes of Lewis, spoke and sang for those mourning at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Thursday. The famous brothers, known for their gospel hits including “Coming Back Home” and “Faithful,” performed a song commissioned in Lewis’ honor aptly called “Good Trouble.” BeBe Winans wrote the song, which details some of Lewis’ humble beginnings and the catchy vamp “he was willing to get in good trouble.”

The response to the biographical song about the civil rights icon was immediate, with some saying the message and title of the song touched them.
