Henry County healthcare workers, emergency officials, seniors 65 years old and up and residents of nursing facilities will begin getting the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.
Leaders in the south metro Atlanta community said the shots will be available by appointment only from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Atlanta Motor Speedway, 1500 Tara Place in Hampton. Those planning to receive the vaccine also should wear short sleeves or loose fitting sleeves that can be rolled up.
The District 4 Public Health Department, which is organizing the vaccine drive, had initially said recipients did not have to make an appointment. That changed over the weekend because health leaders became worried about residents standing outside in what is expected to be inclement weather.
