Clayton County school leaders will meet Monday in their first gathering of the new year as the district remains on an all-virtual schedule.
The board of education will elect new officers and address SPLOST revenues, get an update on the district’s finances and go over construction projects. The board will also set the calendar for its meetings for the year.
Clayton students will start the new year the same way they ended the previous one -- with all virtual classes. The district could soon be the only one in metro Atlanta to offer no face-to-face option as leaders of DeKalb County and Atlanta Public schools have announced plans to let some students come back to the classroom in January.
Clayton Schools Superintendent Morcease Beasley has said that the number of county COVID-19 infections remains too high for an immediate return, but that the district will continue to examine its options.
