Corrections officials in Atlanta are trying to locate an inmate they say left a transitional center Monday and did not return.

Jeremy Deangelo Lewis, 32, is sought by the Georgia Department of Corrections after he reportedly absconded from the Atlanta Transitional Center.

Lewis was a resident at the center serving a sentence for various charges, according to GDC records. He was convicted of burglary and theft by taking in 2017, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and attempted burglary in 2015, and multiple counts of burglary and criminal trespassing in 2010.

He was not eligible for release until January 2022, according to GDC records.

Lewis is described as 5-foot-11 and about 229 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 478-911-5111.
