Lanes reopening after crash closed I-285 East near I-75 in Cobb

Traffic may be moving, but heavy delays remain on the way out of Marietta toward Sandy Springs.

Lanes are starting to reopen after a crash blocked I-285 East just past I-75 in Cobb County early Tuesday.

The collision happened around 6 a.m. on the Perimeter and has been blocking traffic leaving Marietta heading toward Sandy Springs. Traffic started moving again around 6:45 a.m.

Officials have not said what caused the crash or if any injuries have been reported.

The scene is clearing, but delays remain. Commuters can take Powers Ferry Road to head east and get around the backups, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
