A four-vehicle crash blocked I-285 East just past I-75 in Cobb County early Tuesday, causing traffic headaches at the top of the morning commute.

The collision happened around 6 a.m. on the Perimeter and blocked traffic leaving Marietta heading toward Sandy Springs. Motorists started moving again around 6:45 a.m., but heavy delays remained throughout the morning.

Cobb police are investigating the crash. The department wouldn’t say what caused the collision or if any injuries were reported but said the incident wasn’t serious enough to require the involvement of its specialized traffic investigation unit.
