Georgia Department of Transportation construction crews will be closing the ramp from Hammond Drive to Ga. 400 northbound, the ramp from Ga. 400 northbound to Abernathy Road, and the ramp from I-285 westbound to Ga. 400 northbound. Closures began Friday, Nov. 5 as part of a process introducing a new traffic pattern on Ga. 400 northbound. All ramps will be open by Monday, Nov. 15.
Motorists on Hammond Drive westbound will turn right onto Barfield Road, then continue on Barfield Road, which turns into Mercedes Benz Drive, before turning right onto Abernathy Road. Drivers will continue on Abernathy Road before turning left onto the Ga. 400 northbound ramp.
Drivers on Hammond Drive eastbound will turn left onto Peachtree Dunwoody Road before turning left onto Abernathy Road. Motorists will continue on Abernathy Road before turning right onto the Ga. 400 northbound ramp.
Beginning Nov. 12, motorists on Ga. 400 northbound exiting at Abernathy Road will continue on Ga. 400 northbound before exiting at Northridge Road (Exit 6). Drivers will then turn right onto Northridge Road before turning left onto the Ga. 400 southbound ramp. Motorists will continue on Ga. 400 southbound before exiting at Abernathy Road (Exit 5).
Drivers traveling on I-285 westbound will need to continue and exit at Roswell Road Sandy Springs (Exit 25). Motorists will then be directed to I-285 eastbound and then take the I-285 eastbound exit to SR Ga. northbound.
