Plans for an office development in McDonough are still in the works but with a zoning change. The site in question is at 94 Macon Street, known as the Copeland House, and the initial request was to rezone the site from residential to neighborhood commercial. The city’s planning commission recommended denial of that petition and suggested an office-institutional zoning instead. After some discussion at the Oct. 7 City Council meeting it was determined that the applicant would go through the process again in that direction, with all fees already paid to the city being applied to the new application. No vote or other official council action was needed to move in this direction. Information: mcdonoughga.org.
