Jennifer Brown, a sixth-grade teacher at Hampton Middle School, has been named the Henry County Schools Teacher of the Year. The announcement was made at a ceremony Oct. 21 at the Fairview Performing Arts Center which was attended by invited guests of the teachers and also livestreamed. The other two finalists for the honor were Vicki Gonzalez of Woodland Elementary School and Quinyonia Kearse of Luella High School. Recognition of the top teacher at each of the district’s 52 schools was also part of the evening’s program. Semifinalists for the district’s Teacher of the Year award included Alexis Stovall of Hampton Elementary, Kesha Fuller of Dutchtown Middle and Eileen Boggs of Union Grove High.
