Avondale Estates tree chipper event Saturday

Bring One for the Chipper, Georgia’s annual Christmas tree recycling program, involves hundreds of Georgia communities and thousands of volunteers.

This weekend, Avondale Estates hosts an event 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9 at the old compost area by Lake Avondale, near Wiltshire Drive and Berkeley Road.

Attendees are asked to please recycle their Christmas tree by bringing trees to the old composting area by the lake, near Wiltshire Drive and Berkeley Road. Also, residents are asked to place their Christmas tree by the curb and City Public Works Associates will pick it up in accordance with the sanitation schedule.
