A southern soul singer, rock stalwarts from Atlanta and multiple other music acts are joining the lineup for an upcoming free music festival in Brookhaven.
The city announced Anderson East will join Joan Jett and the Blackhearts as the headliners for the two-day Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival in late March. Drivin N Cryin, Howie Day and multiple other bands will also perform.
The festival will take place March 26 and 27 at Blackburn Park, located at 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road.
Brookhaven canceled the annual event for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the city held a block party named after the festival last summer, making it the first major music festival in metro Atlanta since the onset of the pandemic. The block party included performances from Collective Soul, Rick Springfield, The Revivalists and several other bands.
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, known for “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll” and “Bad Reputation,” will headline the first night of the festival, which will also include performances from Howie Day, Dumpstaphunk, Mike Kinnebrew and Kaylin Amaro.
Anderson East, a Grammy nominated soul singer known for his single “All On My Mind,” will cap off the second night of the event. Drivin N Cryin, rock veterans who got their start in Atlanta in 1985, will join Morgan Wade and Brendan Abernathy by performing Sunday.
A detailed schedule will be announced at a later date.
The festival will also include an artists’ market, kids zone, pet area, classic car show and food trucks. For more information on the Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival, visit BrookCherryFest.org.
